An Evening of English Song

Patrick McCartney

Patrick McCarthy (baritone) accompanied by Stephen Evans on piano gave a recital on Saturday, 3rd May.






Film Night

On Bank Holiday Monday, 5th May, a re-mastered Laurel and Hardy silent movie was shown, followed by the award winning film ‘Mandela: the Long Walk to Freedom’.

Matyas and the Hybrid Mind


Matyas, an award winning professional pianist, singer song-writer and composer performed a mixed programme of classical, jazz, pop, and his own compositions, with drummer, Rich Nolan on Wednesday, 7th May.





The Mardling Acre

Hugh Lupton

A programme of folk-tales, legends, music and songs from East Anglia – an evening with the internationally acclaimed story teller, Hugh Lupton took place on 9th May.






The Marenzio Singers


An established vocal quintet, named after the Italian 16th Century composer, Luca Marenzio, gave a concert with repertoire ranging from Marenzio’s time to the present day, accompanied by Alan Bullard (keyboard) and Jeremy Hughes (cello).





2014 Workshop

On Thursday, 8th May, there was a day long course in hooked rag rug making, led by Mary McCarthy, introducing a group of students to a great way to recycle old clothes to make stunning wall-hangings and rugs.
